Description:
Vitamin E:
Vitamin E also known as
Tocopheryl Acetate, functions as a powerful antioxidant, neutralizing free
radicals generated by factors like UV radiation, pollution, and other
environmental stressors as it serves as the first line of defense against
oxidative stress being abundant in stratum corneum. It also inhibits melanin
synthesis and shows depigmenting action, increases stratum corneum hydration
and water binding capacity.
Dimethicone:
Dimethicones are a type
of silicone-based polymer having a unique molecular structure which form a
protective barrier on the skin, reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL),
creates a shield on the skin, helping to reduce damage caused by these external
factors and non - comedogenic in nature.
Ceramide NP:
Ceramides NP are
derived from phytosphingosine and stearic acid that functions by integrating
into the skin's lipid barrier, reinforcing its structure and enhancing its
protective function. They prevent excessive water loss, maintain skin
hydration, and shield against external irritants. Additionally, they
participate in cell signaling, promoting skin cell repair and regeneration for
overall skin health and resilience.
Pentavitin:
Pentavitin is a
moisturizing ingredient that binds to the skin's keratin and lock in moisture.
It also helps reinforce the skin's barrier function by promoting the synthesis
of key proteins and lipids involved in maintaining a healthy skin barrier and
promoting a soothing effect.
Mechanism of action:
The skin's natural
lipid barrier, composed of ceramides, fatty acids, and cholesterol, helps to
retain moisture and protect the skin. When the skin's natural barrier is
weakened and, disruption in this lipid composition results in excessive
Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL), leading to dryness and increased susceptibility
to irritants. Vitamin E, Dimethicone, Pentavitin, Ceramides NP provides
multiple benefits as hydration, protection and improvised barrier function with
sothing and calming effect.
